WELCOME MESSAGE

As the new Chair of the Yorkshire Practice Nurses I would like to start by thanking my predecessor Phillipa Ward for all her excellent work over the past 4 years. She will be a hard act to follow!

By way of introduction, I have been a practice nurse for the past 15 years, which period has seen numerous changes to nursing in primary care; our role is continually being extended, offering unique opportunities and challenges- accepting them must be the way forward.

We are experiencing a time of great change within both our own individual practices and the various PCTs in our region. We must try to remember that we are all members of one Yorkshire Practice Nurse Team and it is up to us to support each other through these challenging times.

I should therefore be grateful for any ideas you have which might be beneficial to the association and its members. You can either leave a message in the forum or via the ‘contact us’ section.

Best Wishes,

Rita Miller
Chair - Yorkshire Practice Nurse Association.

We are a group of practice nurses from the Yorkshire Practice Nurse Association looking to extend our remit into Aid Work.  Our first project is at Kagando Hospital in Uganda.  Our intention is to raise money to enable us to set up a project of care within the hospital and community as well as supplying equipment and resources.

If you can help with fundraising, raffle donations, resources, or money (or are interested in joining us on this project) please email on ypnaid@google.com or ritamiller@btinternet.com
